MEET DESHAWN
DeShawn is a Man of God, a husband, and father of two wonderful children. He has worked in the financial industry for over 14 years. During that time he hadn’t always had a grip on his own financial situation. He got to a point where he found himself helping others achieve their financial goals, meanwhile he didn’t have a credit score high enough to rent a free movie.
It wasn’t until a couple of years into his marriage that he realized it was time to take back their happiness. DeShawn often says “take a seat at the table, not just be ok with being in the room” and that’s exactly what he did. He has achieved success that most thought was impossible. As the current Deputy Treasurer for the county he resides in, he has been a bank Vice President and has helped fund some of Champaign-Urbana's most successful businesses. DeShawn has taken it upon himself to help others who may find themselves in similar financial struggles as he did years ago. He has vowed to help bridge the gap for people wanting to go from poverty or a lack of “know how”, to being informed and in a position to achieve the success that they dreamed of having.
